a field trip to 1800s Vs 2020.
Description: Students will enjoy the preview of a dramatic piece that richly highlights
African American History as well as current events while exploring themes and topics
that include the importance of family, deception, greed, perseverance, breaking generational curses and more.
Join us as we go back in time to the 1800’s and push forward to present day with Gallion’s amazing stage play. It will trigger thought provoking conversations that will last long after the production has ended. 1800’s Vs 2020 is not just a stage play, but it will demonstrate and highlight the meaning of Black History for children and adults alike!
*There will be imagery of fake guns during the production.
Following the performance the Q&A session will allow time for an engaging
discussion between the director, cast and students/audience.
The play will serve as a secondary source that can be incorporated into instruction as
it aligns with the history/social studies common core state standards. Specifically, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.6-8.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.6-8.2,

Cost: $10.00 per student, $10.00 per Chaperone
*Field Trip Policies: Chaperones and teachers are responsible for supervising their groups. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the theater. No picture taking is allowed during the play. Failure to adequately supervise your students may result in the school being asked to leave the production.

Cancellations or changes to reservation must be made 14 days prior to scheduled visit to receive a partial refund.
Payments Policy: Once your school's payment has been received we will reserve those seats for your class. Purchase orders can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Payments are preferred in advance to secure seating for your class. Seats are reserved on a first come basis.
